Frequently Asked Questions
-
How do I know if therapy is right for me?
If you're here asking this question, therapy may already be worth exploring.
You don't have to be in crisis to benefit from therapy. Many of my clients come because they feel overwhelmed, stuck, disconnected from themselves, or simply want to understand themselves more deeply.
If you're unsure whether we're a good fit, I'd be happy to chat during a free 15-minute consultation.
-
What happens during the first session?
Definitely not a PowerPoint presentation of your life from birth until now. 😊
We can start wherever feels most important to you—in the past, the present, or whatever brought you here today. I'll ask questions to help guide us, but getting to know your story is something that unfolds naturally over time. There's no pressure to share everything all at once.
-
How often will we meet?
I typically recommend meeting weekly at first. This gives us the opportunity to build our therapeutic relationship, better understand what's bringing you in, and begin creating meaningful momentum.
As we make progress, many clients choose to transition to every other week or less frequently. We'll decide together what feels most helpful.
-
How long does therapy usually last?
There's no one-size-fits-all answer.
I've worked with clients for a few months and others for several years. Therapy is a collaborative process, and we'll regularly check in about your goals and what's feeling most supportive. Ultimately, the decision is always yours.
-
Do you accept insurance?
Yes! I'm currently in-network with Aetna.
For all other insurance plans, I'm considered an out-of-network provider and am happy to provide a superbill for possible reimbursement through your out-of-network benefits.
-
What are your fees?
Initial Diagnostic Assessment (55 minutes): $165
Individual Therapy (55 minutes): $150
Extended EMDR Therapy (90 minutes): $200
Therapy Groups: Typically $50 per session (may vary depending on the group)
-
Do you offer virtual sessions?
Yes!
I offer both in-person and virtual therapy for clients located in North Carolina.
Many clients find virtual sessions to be a convenient way to fit therapy into busy schedules without sacrificing consistency.
-
Where are you located?
My office is located in the heart of SouthPark in Charlotte, North Carolina, just off Fairview Road.
Detailed directions and parking information will be provided before your first appointment.
-
What is your cancellation policy?
Life happens—I completely understand. My life happens too!
I ask for as much notice as possible if you need to cancel or reschedule. I offer one grace "freebie" for late cancellations because sometimes things truly come up. After that, late cancellations or missed appointments are charged the full session fee.
-
What are your office hours?
My regular session hours are:
Monday–Friday
8:30 AM–4:30 PM (ET)

What if I still have questions?
Please ask!
You don't have to know exactly what you need before reaching out. If you're wondering whether therapy is the right fit, have questions about EMDR, or simply want to see if we'd work well together, I'd love to talk.
